ENSKEDEJAZZ

Enskedejazz is a non-profit organization that previously organized the Enskede jazz festival, a festival with a focus on original music.

The organization was founded in 2019 by jazz musician and organizer Matilda Schyborger. Since then, the festival has grown from one stage to five, from six acts to fifteen, and has run clubs around Stockholm in the past five years. After a year's break, Enskedejazz is collaborating with Hägerstensåsen's medborgarhus.

The organization has done previous collaborations with, among others, Årsta folkets hus, Stockholms bränneri and Bonniers konsthall.

Matilda is always open for new projects and collaborations within the culture field.

"There are songs that transport you from the first seconds, and Roads and Railways by Matilda Schyborger is one of them... The minimalist arrangements allow every note, every breath, to resonate with disarming clarity. This is not just a song, it is an sound experience that makes you think about your own path.”

“It will be exciting to hear the continuation from this talented singer who really uses a wide spectrum of musical elements. […] The voice is personal and it is inspiring to hear the skillful improvisations from both vocals and other instruments. The band has a playful interplay that attracts the listener.”

- Orkesterjournalen

“With ten very different stories, which sketch out a palette of a musician who dares to let the notebook come to life. And who allows fellow musicians to have the confidence to blossom with their sometimes completely opposite temperaments.”
